
Tim O'Hare
Legend 1961 - 2019 Legacy

Tim’s dancing career started at the young age of 5 with the Dineen School in Detroit, MI. His first National title came at the age of 10 and Tim then went on to win 6 additional National titles and 2 Regional titles. Tim placed 3rd at the World Championships in 1975. His competitive years were highlighted with back-to-back World Championship Titles: In 1976 he was the Junior Men’s Champion and in 1977 Tim became the Senior Men's World Champion.
Tim’s professional career in Irish Dance is highlighted by his 1996 tour with the Chieftains, an appearance in the Disney feature film MAFIA in 1998 and a visit to the White House on St. Patrick’s Day in 1999. Tim’s students have won Regional, National, All-Ireland and World Championships and many have appeared in the stage shows Riverdance and Lord of the Dance.
Tim spent countless hours traveling each week to teach classes as well as adjudicating dance competitions all over the world. Tim had numerous achievements to be proud of. His dedication and commitment to excellence in teaching Irish Dance makes the O’Hare School the success that it is today. He is greatly missed. We love you Tim!
